Wonderful as Chicago is, sometimes a little (or long!) getaway is completely in order! There are so many cool things happening around the country and around the world. In addition to cultural and sporting To-Dos of interest to the African-American professional, I've included some odd To-Dos (like the Alabama Butterbean Festival), some unusual To-Dos (like the Pennsylvania [Hot Air] Balloon Festival) and an assortment of things To-Do in exotic locales! Whether a weekend trip to Canada, skiing in Colorado, a film fest in Miami or a reggae fest in Jamaica - find it all right here!
If I’ve been to any of these To-Dos, I’ll let you know. Otherwise, I do my best to screen what might be cool by looking at things like the longevity of the event, the musicians/artists, the photos, and, of course, the quirky factor. I’m doing my best, so don’t get mad at me if you make an 11-hour road trip to Talladega, Alabama only to find that the Indian Fest sucks. Don’t get mad – just share Your Take!
